The Winter Palace of
Bogd Khaan is one of the first museums in Mongolia. It used to be a residence
of the last Bogd Khaan of Mongolia, Javzandamba. It is well known for its Gate
of Peace, Temple and personal library of Bogd Khaan. There are also sculptures and
famous Taras made by Mongolian first Bogd, Zanabazar. The collection it the
Palace Museum numbers over 8,000 exhibits of which 72 are certified by The state as unique and others are priceless artefacts. This is only one remaining
palace of four residences where Bogd Khaan, the last Mongolian king, resided.
This palace now displays the collection of personal belongings of the last Khan
and his wife. The museum offers a wide variety of Buddhist arts.
