MUSEUM OF TRADITIONAL MEDICINE
The public museum aims to
highlight Mongolian’s contribution to medical science and to preserve, protect
and develop Mongolian traditional medicine. It exhibits 300 types of herbs and
approximately 700 tools used by ancient Mongolian therapists. The museum
provides the opportunity to practice and study the traditional way to treat and
having studied traditional medicine based on evidence would add another
option to help healing illnesses. Scientists believe that Mongolian traditional
medicine dates back 5,000 years ago and among the exhibits is a 1,000-year-old
venesection tool, an instrument that is used all over the world until today.
