Overview

This is a great opportunity to travel in the natural scenic areas of Mongolia, which allows you to see rock paintings. There are over 200 large collections of monuments and memorials dating back to before 10th century, the Stone Age, Bronze Age. Del mountain petroglyph, known as Ancient Art Gallery, is considered one of the largest collections of the petroglyph in Mongolia. There are more than 150 inscriptions in the Taikhar Rock, covering 8th to 18th centuries, but they are getting blurred.  This monument plays an important role in the stone monuments relating to AD. The tour also provides the Kharkhorin town, which was the capital of Great Mongol Empire in 13th century and the museum covering the history of it while wondering the first Buddhist monastery in Mongolia.

Itinerary

1st Day:

  • Arrival in Ulaanbaatar.
  • Take a short break to explore UB.
  • Stay in Kempinski hotel.

2nd Day:

  • 09:00 Drive to the Tsagaan suvarga.
  • Lunch on the way to Tsagaan suvarga.
  • Staying in tourist camp.
  • Go to the Tsagaan suvarga to see the sunset after dinner.

3rd Day:

  • Drive to the east to Del Mountain.
  • Discover the top petroglyph in Del Mountain laying 20 км.
  • Dinner in the nomadic family.
  • Stay over the night in nomadic family.

4th Day:

  • Drive to Dalanzadgad town.
  • Visit the local museum.
  • Drive to Yol valley after lunch.
  • Travel through Dungenee valley.
  • Stay in tourist camp.

5th Day:

  • Drive to Sevrei Mountain & Sevrei soum.
  • See the petroglyphs in Sevrei Mountain.
  • Drive to the Khongor sand dune.
  • See the sunset from the top of the sand dune.

6th Day:

  • Camel back riding to Gobi oasis.
  • Drive to Khavtsgait petroglyph after lunch.
  • See the petroglyphs related to bronze age. 
  • Drive to Bayanzag - flaming cliff which is rich with dinosaur fossil.
  • Stay in tourist camp.

7th Day

  • Drive to Ongi steppe and Ongi monastery early in the morning.
  • Drive to Arvaikheer town after lunch.
  • Visit in the Garden of first Bogd Zanabazar.
  • Stay in local hotel.

8th Day:

  • Drive to Kharkhorin town and Erdene Zuu monastery.
  • See the museum of Kharkhorin and visit Erdene Zuu monastery.
  • Drive to Taikhar Rock passing by Tsetserleg town.
  • Stay in tourist camp.

9th Day:

  • See rock inscription in the morning and take a walk along the Tamir River.
  • Return to Ugii Lake after lunch.
  • Stay in tourist camp.

10th Day

  • Drive to Ulaanbaatar city.
  • Check-in the Kempinski hotel.
  • Take a city tour including Gandan Monastery, Sukhbaatar square.
  • Stay over the night in the hotel.

11th Day

  • Flight day back to the country.
