A multi-day tour to discover the life of reindeer herders living in the impressive mountain taiga, located in the northernmost part of the country while enjoying horseback riding through rolling hills. Wonderful opportunity to learn life both of Mongolian nomadic family and reindeer herder’s, spending nights in a Mongolian traditional ger and teepee. (50 km by horse)

Itinerary

Day 1

  • Drive to Khuvsgul province by a domestic bus (900km)
    • Arrival at 22:00

Day 2

  • Drive to Tsagaan nuur town
  • Stay overnight in a nomadic family.

Day 3

  • 40km horseback riding to Hogorog river
  • Stay overnight in a nomadic family.

Day 4

  • 30km horseback riding to the West Taiga and watch the Taiga wildlife.
  • Stay overnight in a Reindeer herder’s teepee.

Day 5

  • Visit the Tsaatan people (Reindeer herders)
  • Free time
  • Stay overnight in the Reindeer herder’s teepee.

Day 6

  • 35km horseback riding to Shishged river.
  • Stay overnight in a nomadic family.

Day 7

  • 40km horseback riding to Renchinlkhumbe town’s Tsanttolgoi.
  • Stay overnight in a nomadic family.

Day 8

  • Drive to Khatgal village & Khuvsgul lake (150km by car)

Day 9

  • Walking around the Khuvsgul lake.
  • Motorboat trip (1 hour)
  • Stay overnight in a tourist camp.

Day 10

  • Drive to the Murun city.
  • Drive back to Ulaanbaatar city by domestic bus at 15:00.
  • Overnight in the bus.

Day 11

  • Arrive in Ulaanbaatar city at 8:00 (900km)
