Overview

A short trip to visit the most popular tourist attractions in the central part of the country, including  Khustai National Park, Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes, Erdenezuu monastery, Kharkhorin museum and Ugii lake. On the way to Kharkhorin town stop over the Khustai National Park to watch Takhi or Przewalski’s wild horses and Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes to enjoy camelback riding.

Itinerary

Day 1

  • (09:00) Drive to Khustai National Park
  • Visit the Khustai National Park museum
  • Drive to the mountain where Takhi is
  • Lunch near the Khustai National Park
  • Drive to Khugnu Khan mountain & Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes
  • Camelback riding to the Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes (about 30 min)
  • Stay overnight in a nomadic family 

Day 2

  • Drive to Kharkhorin town
  • Visit the Erdenezuu monastery & Kharkhorin museum
  • Lunch in the Kharkhorin town
  • Stay overnight in a tourist camp

Day 3

  • Drive to Memorial complex of the Turkish period 
  • Continue driving to Ugii Lake
  • Lunch nearby the lake
  • Drive back to Ulaanbaatar city (19:00)
