A short trip to the central part of the country, while visiting Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes, Kharkhorin town, and Ugii lake. Visit the famous Erdenezuu monastery built on the site of ancient capital Kharkhorin city and Kharkhorin museum exhibits findings from the ruins of Kharkhorin city.

Day 1

  • (09:00) Drive to the west to Khugnu Khan mountain (about 290km)
  • Visit a nomadic family
  • Camelback riding in Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes (about 30 min)
  • Drive to Kharkhorin town
  • Visit the Erdenezuu monastery

Day 2

  • Visit the Kharkhorin museum
  • Drive to Ugii lake
  • Visit Memorial complex of the Turkish period
  • Picnic nearby the Ugii lake (Lunch)
  • Drive back to Ulaanbaatar city (19:00)
